Annual pet exams are a nose to tail check-up that can help monitor your pets' health
and look for early signs of problems such as dermatitis, obesity, overgrown teeth,
parasites, and other pathological conditions. Your veterinarian can detect problems and
give you advice for treating them. A complete physical exam by your veterinarian is
recommended every 6 months.
Radiographs are the most common form of imaging used by veterinarians. X rays are
an important tool to evaluate internal organs, bones and joint pathologies.
Regular lab work allows your veterinarian to assess symptoms he/she cannot see or
feel, such as liver disease, kidney disease and gastro intestinal diseases.
It is important to do blood work before any anesthetic procedures.
Spaying your female companion helps prevent uterine infections and tumors
which can be malignant or cancerous.
Spaying your female rabbit can prevent rapid breeding.
Routine dental exams and performing teeth trimming is very important in small mammal
species such as rabbits and hamsters.
Neutering your male companion prevents rapid breeding and aggressiveness.
