The Importance of Grooming

Proper grooming is an important part of pet care.

It not only makes a companion animal look better,but contributes to his or her physiological and psychological health.

Grooming your pets regularly is is essential for your pet's good health.

A glossy, beautiful coat is a sign of your pet's overall health and wellbeing.

It not only helps your cat to look its best, it helps you avoid more complicated problems

like parasites and skin diseases. The routein grooming should  be performed by trained professionals and

should include nail trim, anal gland expression, ear clean, clipping and brushing the coat

followed by bathing with appropriate shampoo and rinsing with conditioner.

Grooming prevents matted hair and fur balls, and in detecting problems with their eyes, ears and skin.

We strongly recommend an annual health check up by veterinarian.

Boarding / Grooming Requirements

In order to provide the best health care for your pets:

• Pets must be current on all vaccinations at the time of boarding/Grooming drop-off.

• Pet owners must produce proof of vaccination from a veterinarian.

In order to keep Avalon Animal Hospital a Flea Free Zone:

• All the pets are given oral administration of Capstar (at an additional charge) upon admission.
